ghoul and werewolf

first 2 patterns of the year

a 4 color ghoul/alien

and a wolf... the mane is a little messy, but serves as at least a general idea

Ooops, never posted 2011 carves

so bit late on posting these... sadly I only got one done....
but that's okay because I got to play with fun new methods: using permanent marker to do the darkest shade, so it looks spiffy during the day as well. Which I sort of picked up after revisiting the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI (I went once when I was much younger, its sort of where this whole obsession started). If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend it.

As per usual I talked other people into carving with me so... they all have a bit more of an art background and decided to go for 3D carvings... results

This one is a two sided one, that we brought to pumpkinfest in Keene. Someone else ended up taking it home at the end of the night
we have side one

and side two

and another by the same person.... sheesh so productive...

a most spectacular lion

and another 3D carving by my sister

lots of little details. lots of time.

Simba& Nala, Meet the Robinsons, Snoopy &Woodstock

So a couple of patterns that are a little easier and a little cuter

First up, Simba and Nala (come on, who doesn't love the Lion King??)
I also worked on Wilber and Lewis from Meet the Robinsons, I think Wilber came out a bit better (mostly because of Lewis' eyes)
These sort of came about because I have a Woodstock keychain on my key and decided to see what I could find, first up, Woodstock and Snoopy.  Little bit of difficulty on the eyes for both; I considered making them shaded, but it just didnt look right to me...
And a pretty simple Woodstock, because who cant love him just a little?

V Carve

First carve this year, also my first foam pumpkin and first time using the speedball, lost a tiny bit of the face, but overall I think it went well. Hope you like it!

Alien vs Predator

Alien

on both the edges are not cut closer than I would like and there are details that aren't there as a result

Predator
